China: CIFTPE 2018 to be held in Beijing on May 17-19

The CIFTPE is organized by CITVC and CHNPEC, and guided by the State Administration of Radio and Television. The exhibition is hosted by China Media Group (formerly known as CCTV, CNR, CRI and CGTN). Chinese authorities that will be present include: The State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China; The State Administration of Radio and Television of the People's Republic of China; The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China; The State Administration of Taxation of the People's Republic of China, etc.
The annual CIFTPE is a major event for film/TV program transactions in Asia, attracting global production & distribution companies as well as broadcasters. This year marks the 15th anniversary of CIFTPE with a theme of "New Era, New Accomplishments, New Chapter" showcasing how Chinese media has entered a new era. New Media and Technology will be another distinguishing feature of the exhibition, and many top-line production companies will exhibit their best TV series, documentaries, animations, and variety shows.
Nearly 20 embassies based in China, including those of the Republic of Korea, the Republic of South Africa, Greece, Royal Norwegian, the Republic of the Philippines, and others will exhibit in a pavilion, showcasing media development and programs from their own countries. VR and AR content, as well as motion-sensing companies, will comprise the Unprecedented View zone demonstrating the most advanced technology. Several dubbing/translation companies will jointly display their services and the exhibition will be shown live via online platforms like CNTV, iQIYI, etc.

Over 200 exhibitors from China and abroad are registered. International exhibitors include: MediaCorp TV Singapore, ASTRO Malaysia, Information TV India, Hulegu TV Mongolia, Canada China Art-Tech and others. The CIFTPE usually attracts 8,000+ attendees.
Special Events/Panel Discussions: The Forum: "Power of Data"—Program Measurement and Value Research; China TV Series Creation Summit Forum 2018, and events produced by The Film and Television Import & Export Association (FTIEA), such as Releasing of Outstanding Enterprises and Projects in International Cooperation, the signing ceremony of FTIEA and the Belt and Road Media Community (BRMC), the launch of international cooperation and co-production projects, etc. The FTIEA and BRMC are initiated by China International TV Corporation and operated by China Radio, Film and TV Programs Exchanging Center.
Speakers include Ma Li, the Director General of International Cooperation Department of the State Administration of Radio and Television, the People’s Republic of China; Mr. Xue Jijun, CEO and President of CITVC, Mr. Li Xingwen, a TV Series scholar, critic and We-media expert in China; Mr. Charles Hirschhorn, TV President of AEG (USA); Ms. Ying Xujun, co-president of CMC Holdings, and others.
