Latin America: Wireline Internet access improved by 5,6% in 2017

Fixed broadband services reached a level of 62,8 million subscribers in Latin America at the end of 2017, rising in the nine countries considered.

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela went from 56,76 million in 2015 to 59,55 million in December 2016, according to consultants Business Bureau.

The top countries in terms of annual growth have been Peru (10%), Ecuador (8%) and Brazil (7%), while, in terms of bandwidth speed, the list is headed by Chile, where more tan 74% od the users have speeds ranging from 6 Mbps to 50 Mbps, followed by Argentina, with 62% of users access at speeds of 6 Mbps, and Brazil, with 58% of users under such condition.
