StarzPlay releases The Act in 14th June

StarzPlay announced that will delliver the true-crime anthology series The Act to its clients in UK, Germany and Spain, coming exclusively to the premium streaming service on Friday, 14 June.

The eight-part series will be available to local viewers on StarzPlay in the UK via Prime Video Channels and Virgin Media, in Germany via Prime Video Channels, and in Spain via Vodafone and Orange TV.

The Act stars Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette, Joey King, Chloë Sevigny and Anna Sophia Robb and is based on the 2016 BuzzFeed article Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter To Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom Murdered by Michelle Dean.

The Act follows Gypsy Blanchard (King), a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother Dee Dee (Arquette). Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets - one that ultimately leads to murder.

From UCP (Universal Content Productions), Nick Antosca (Channel Zero) and Michelle Dean serve as co-creators and executive producers, while Greg Shephard and Britton Rizzio also serve as executive producers.

The StarzPlay premium streaming service gives subscribers access to acclaimed series like Castle Rock and Harlots along with its growing selection of exclusive Staz Originals on the same day they launch in the U.S., including Now Apocalypse and The Spanish Princess as well as hit movies like The Big Short.
