Netherlands-based Spike agrees DRG deal of 200 hours of Brit TV

DRG announced a deal with Spike, Viacom owned in the Netherlands to run almost 200 hours of programming from British producers.

The majority of the 196-hour package is taken from the Nordic Entertainment Group backed sales firm’s ‘blue light’ catalogue, with Spike picking up six seasons (60 hours) of Brown Bob Production’s Inside the Ambulance along with 45 hours of Helicopter ER and 20 hours of Trauma Rescue Squad, both produced by Air Television.

The remainder of the volume deal comprises MiddleChild and Motion Content Group’s long-running series The Dog Rescuers and a licence deal for four series of The Yorkshire Vet, totalling 39 hours, produced by Daisybeck and Motion Content Group.

'British factual producers continue to shine in the international market and we are pleased to represent so many of them across our catalogue', remarked Lucy Roberts, senior sales manager at DRG. 'The extraordinary filming access given in the five series in the Spike package, coupled with the dedicated people (and animals!) who agree to take part, never fails to create a compelling mix of heart-warming and heart-stopping content'.
